Happy People Read and Drink Coffee

released on June 6, 2013

A wonderful novel about grief, love and resilience.

“They left, teasing each other in the stairwell. […] I learned that they were still clowning around in the car when the truck hit them. I told myself they had died laughing. I told myself I wished I had been with them.” Diane lost her husband and daughter abruptly in a car accident. From then on, everything freezes in her, with the exception of her heart, which continues to beat. Obstinately. Painfully. Unnecessarily. Lost in the limbo of memory, she no longer finds the path back to life. Maybe walking the moors of Ireland, where she exiles herself, will she see the light at the end of the tunnel. The story of Diane puts us through a rollercoaster of emotions. Sometimes dramatic, sometimes funny, it’s impossible to remain indifferent to the journey of this young woman, to whom life has given everything before taking it back, and who has no choice but to deal with it.
